Activities To Do At Home

Over the next week I want you to complete the following  at home, (or during study hall after school if you do not have access to a computer at home).

1/ Quia Activities – These activities are great for reviewing what we have been learning since September, for pre-assessment (what do you already know BEFORE we start a unit), or for current self-assessment of your understanding of what we are currently learning in class.

2/ Create an animation at home using some of the free software that you can download (Mac or Windows) or using an online website. Please comment on this post to include some software or online websites that you have used to create animations and share them with your classmates.

Here are some ideas to start:

Have fun! Remember to send me the links to your finished work, or post the link in the comments. You can also upload your work to the class Flickr website if it is saved as a movie file. (.mov)

Animasher is really fun. I did not understand at first what I needed to do when I got to the link’s page, then when I saw what I needed to do ( just so you know there were also instuctions that helped me).

I think that sketch star is a very fun and unique animation program. It’s unfortunate that you can only save work if you’re a member.

I worked on Skytz. It’s intersting and pretty easy to create an animation. It’s also fun.

These animation websites helped me create a lot of fun animations. Some of the websites and animation in general can be confusing. Its still a very fun activity to do at home.

I think that DVOLVER was very fun, you can have music, a setting, backround and cool characters.

To tell you the truth, I hated SketchStar. Made no sense to me whatsoever. But i made mine on Dvolver, which was fantastic! Ms.Rudzitis, what is your e-mail? I need to send this to you.

I really liked scetch star but you may not be able to see it because I did it on a different computer and couldn’t send it

  33.   Zoeon 08 Feb 2012 at 5:55 pm

I downloaded one of the animation options. I made a man doing a cartwheel! The animation was very fun to make and I really like using Stykz (that is the one I used). The options were something like Photoshop and Frames but to me, this was easier.

  34.   Alexandra Crawfordon 08 Feb 2012 at 7:27 pm

I found Dvolver fun and very easy to use!

  35.   linda rahimon 10 Feb 2012 at 6:59 pm

I used Sketch Star and my animation is about a flying U.F.O. It was really fun. :)

  36.   Tommy Richardson 11 Feb 2012 at 4:45 pm

Using the animation websites to create an animation was great. I enjoyed Stykz because I could create a animation from stick-figures. My animation is about a guy playing basketball.

Using the 12 principles of animation is great. I enjoy using squash and stretch because it can stretch through anything with a shape. My animation was a kid playing dodge ball.

I thought dvolver was preety cool. I liked how you could pick backrounds and characters and that you got to tell them what to say.
