We are at the half -way point of the Microworlds Games project. You should have at least 4 of the techniques listed on the handout Microworlds Games Check List completed and working without errors in your game. Each of the techniques listed has a corresponding worksheet that you can use to help you. I have also posted examples of some of the techniques on the Wiki page for the games.
Our class Wiki is a work in progress, so please post any tips, ideas, solutions, questions, you have about making games using Microworlds.
Please see me if you are having problems with your game or if you feel you are falling behind in the project. Better yet, ask a classmate for some help or some input or some fresh ideas.
Most importantly, have fun , and work hard.

Before we dive into creating our own MicroWorlds games, we should do a little thinking and talking about what a game is and what makes a good game.
Answer the following questions by creating a Keynote presentation about the game that you propose to make.
1/ What are some characteristics of a game and what are the characteristics going to be of your game?
2/ What type of game do you want to make? Examples of game types include arcade games, puzzles, role playing, adventure games, strategy games, racing games, sports games, and simulation games.
3/ Who are the characters or players in your game?
4/ What kind of decisions will these characters/players be making?
5/ What will the setting of your game be? What kind of objects will you have in your game?
6/ How will these objects or resources be controlled? (Buttons, sliders, questions and answers)
7/What will the goal of your game be? Will there be rewards? A scoring system?
8/ Will your game have music or special effects?
9/ What do you already know how to do in MicroWorlds that will help you make your game?
10/What will you have to learn how to do in MicroWorlds to create your game?
You will have 2 full classes to complete your presentation. Think about the games you played and evaluated this past week. What did you like and what did you dislike about those games? What could you do better?
